Thieves and Raiders by 1-Renaissance Thieves and Raiders by 1-Renaissance
From a novel I plan to write titled "Sagebrush"

The awesome pirate Captain Ringtail (Oslo Zorro Ringtail) of the Opal is back. This time he's with two of his crew, Deleigh the hedgehog and Sagebrush the squirrelmaid, the two youngest crewbeasts. Sagebrush isn't supposed to be the pretty one but she doesn't care. She even paints herself with black warpaint to make herself appear intimidating.

Anyhow, I sketched this to go along with the song I made up. Here goes:

We’re thieves and raiders of the sea
The world is cruel and so are we.
We do what we pleases,
Spread fever diseases,
We’re thieving raiders, born wild and free!

No one knows just where we’re bound
Cause we’re stuck goin’ round and round
Since the rudder went all a-smash
So more than likely we’re bound to crash.
Wipe that smile off your mug
Afore I beats you like a rug.
Know that water’s rising below
And if we’re to sink you’re the first to go.

We’re thieves and raiders of the sea
The world is cruel and so are we.
We do what we pleases,
Spread fever diseases,
We’re thieving raiders, born wild and free!

Avast ye there ye filthy scrub
And help patch up this leaking tub.
The greedy cook ate all the tuck
So supper’s boots and seaweed muck.
I see a ship so on with the chase
If we lose this, I’ll fish slap yer face.
If the sail tears I’ll take you aside,
And patch it with yer smelly hide.

We’re thieves and raiders of the sea.
The world is cruel and so are we.
We do what we pleases,
Spread fever diseases,
We’re thieving raiders, born wild and free!

We’re thieves and raiders of the sea.
All creatures know to fear me.
We do what we pleases,
Spread fever diseases,
We’re thieving raiders, born wild and free!

The world is cruel and so are we.
We’re thieving raiders, born wild and free!

Heh, thanks. :D And about clean, that's not exactly true since the side of my hand is silver and shiny with graphite after every sketch! :D And there's a whole lot of erasing and cursing in the mix. :D

I always wondered why Raccoons were never in Redwall, I looked it up and apparently Brian only uses animals native to Liverpool, there's apparently no raccoons. o.o
Awesome pic, though. =D

Yeah I noticed that too. In my stories I use animals native to North America. Unless of course they're foreign travelers.

I quite like this, and I wish I could hear the song. Nice shading and fur. a tip for the future would be the short lines on the deck by the rivets/bolts try to keep them all going in the same direction or vanish to a point.

You did a great job on this. It's :+fav:-ed

Heh, cute characters there! :)
Again, I love the way you do the fur - and it's interesting to see a raccoon in a Redwally world! :aww:

WHOA, *EPIC*!!!! :D :wow:

The way how you drew Sagebrush, I'm glad you're designing Lady Amber! She's going to look fantastic! :D :D :D

And I *love* the little hedgehog! Are there any extra hedgehogs in "Mossflower"? Well, I don't think there are, but I do know there would be some extra woodlanders, so maybe you can design some of them? Just some random suggestion borne of delighted shock at seeing how cute your hedgehogs are. (Not to detract from Eshva's hedgehogs, btw, her's are adorable)

But wow, you never cease to amaze me with your talent. Heh boy, there are so many talented young writers out there all in the Redwall-ish genre, I'm pretty sure my own book will have some serious competition! :D :D :D

 Thank you, thank you, thank you! :D:D:D

And I did see Eshva's hedgehogs. They are adorable. But maybe I could make some extra woodlanders as you suggested. That would be fun. :D

Yep you have competition, mate. But that doesn't mean I wish ill on your novel. I want it to succeed actually. :D But I wonder, how is it going so far?

Heh, it took me *YEARS* to finish mine - although that was partly because at first I didn't know what genre I wanted it to be. After becoming "infected" by Redwall (:XD:) I decided on my current genre and have stuck with it. Pretty much since then the series has managed to form itself. :)

Yep. In fact, I think I started writing when I was 12, and I'm 22 now, so its taken me 10 years to decide the genre, the plot, the characters, the backstory, the depth, the meaning, the humor/excitement, the flow, the spelling and grammar. You'll probably finish your's sooner, though. ;) :D

About 10 years. Wow, that's quite some time. But yeah, mine just might take less than that.

Very nice pic, and it's funny that you should call your story Sagebrush. That's the name of the street I live on.

to answer you this is what my book is about, it was what I put for my description youtube

My first book is called "The Legend of Antonio Guitarmouse". It is about a plump mouse wearing a red jacket with gold collar and buttons named Antonio Guitarmouse, who travels to a place called Fonteinia. He is captured by The Rat King Demorte and is made a slave in his castle . Antonio soon escapes with the help of a sea rat named Ronzo, a squirrel named Vekio, and a Mysterious old mouse named Fredrick. Fredrick sacrifices himself in order to save the three others and they promise him to help Fonteinia fight Demorte’s Rat army. Antonio must rally his own army with the help of a wizard, to combat Demorte’s army of 20,000, while on the run from 5 vicious bounty hunters Demorte has hired to capture of kill them. There will be romance, sword fights, and epic battles containing siege weapons, lots of swords, and plenty of dead bodies. It is the story of a mouse who finds a new world where good and evil is not classified by species. Where love can come from anywhere, and friends can be anyone. It is a world called Fonteinia.

Sounds thrilling. One thing though, Demorte sounds like DeMort. Odd that we came up with something sounding similar. But that's not bothering me at all. Just thought it was amusing. :D

Oh, well that is interesting. Originality is hard these days. I just put that because muerte means dead in spanish, and de means of, so, of death, demorte, I thought Morte meant dead in itallian, but I think its actually Morti. I didnt put much thought into it. I just wanted somthing I thought sounds cool. Fonteinia is supposed to of course be named after our town. :D

HOORAY! I just think of plots and situations for my book when Im going to sleep. I imagine myself in my own world and I interact with my own characters. I also think of it when I finish all my class work and I got like a few minutes of freetime, I usually just lay my head down and imagine.

Mind sharing the plot to your book :), just because Im interested in people doing the same thing as me.

You know Kel? he's doing his own book too, its finished in fact, he gave me 8 of his chapters and I loved it. You should ask him sometime, or I could always give them to you. He trusts me because I already got my own idea. Which Im going to post chapter 1 right now.

Don't post all of them if you want it published. One or two chapters is tolerable.

As for my story, I won't tell you until you tell me yours first. I won't steal anything. :D

Ok, you could read the first chapter once I post it. Im revising it a second time right now. I wasnt going to post all of them :p, plagarism anyone. Oh look a free story, lets steal it and publish it ourselves. Im smarter than that. I just plan to post enough for the reader to want to get the actually book. Since they may ask whats next and all :D
