Mossflower's Squirrelqueen by 1-Renaissance Mossflower's Squirrelqueen by 1-Renaissance
Out of the blue I just decided that I wanted to sketch a squirrel, Lady Amber from Brian Jacques' Mossflower to be precise. It was simpler than the rest of my sketches so I gave in to the urge to digitally color it. And this is how she turned out.

I don't have the book Mossflower so I was lost as to how she should look and what's she should wear. So I went with this. She and her squirrels were expert archers and attacked from the trees (that I remember) so she probably wouldn't wear anything that would limit her ability to move quickly and invisibly in the trees.

Well there's the noble and valiant Squirrelqueen, Lady Amber! :D

Aha! My character to be! She looks ready to kick some tail! This is going to be fuuuuun! XD

I have two things to say.
1: Go get Mossflower! Like, hurry! For one thing it makes it better to draw for the characters when you really know them. And it would also be nice to be in the loop with everyone else to what we're expecting of this whole production. But despite not having the book you're doing a scary good job.
And 2: Love the pose! Extremely in character! When I think Lady Amber I think Xena warrior princess.

I know, mate. I borrowed the book from the library and will keep doing that until I'm finished. But I remember Lady Amber from the first time I read the book. :D Know why? She's awesome!

And the pose....hmm. I had to take out my bow and look at myself in the mirror to make sure I got every aspect right in the position. :D

Thanks!

I used to in 8th grade. I'm in 10th now and my mom gave me a bow and arrow shafts for my 15th birthday...last year. I do try to keep practicing but my space is limited.

I took classes for a little bit. And fencing too. But I got busy the minute I got into high school so I couldn't anymore. TT___TT

Wow, marvelous! :D She looks almost excactly how I pictured her! The one thing is that the low front maybe--and this is just to me--suggests that she's a he, considering females probably wouldn't wear that kind of attire. =p I just love her all around, though!
