Goodbye by 1-Renaissance Goodbye by 1-Renaissance
High Rhulain

I really liked this particular scene from the book because it was a sweet moment shared by Leatho Shellhound and Tiria Wildlough. In my opinion, that would have been a great pairing.

I titled this "Goodbye" because in the scene, Leatho and Tiria honor her friend Brinty who was killed but died a warrior.

======================================
I tried to make Tiria and Leatho resemble my first sketch of them as best as I can. So maybe that went okay?
Furthermore, I decided to make the coniferous trees a bit differently and tried to make them more defined than the shaggy mops I was used to. :D Maybe I can do the same and improve my deciduous trees.

======================================
Now down to the legal business...

I own nothing here but the imagination and work that went into this. Scene, otters, book, everything else.....belongs to Brian Jacques. :D

I freakin' love it!! Leatho and Tiria are my favorite Redwall book series couple (at least I think they became a couple), and I kept reading the part at the lake over and over because Redwall isn't known to be very romantic, but when it is, it's perfect!! And um, Tiria was wearing a short dark-green cloak wasn't she? Besides that, THIS IS PICTURE PERFECT!!

This is awesome. That scene was so sweet and sad. I always thought that they would have made a great pairing also. I recently reread it. I hated when Pandion died. He was one of my favorite characters. Him and Cuthbert Frunk W. Bloodpaw.

I think they would be cute together, maybe they did pair up in the end, if so they would had some cute cubs :heart:

Very nice, very nice indeed. :D

I like the trees, and I will agree, they are literally hell to draw. It takes so long, bah, oh well. Anyhow, Leatho looks the same, Tiria is a bit different. Much more peaceful looking, which is good for this picture!

Awww, they certainly did look like they'd make a sweet pair there... :aww:
Didn't they become an official couple or anything? It's ages since I read "High Rhulain"...

I've read High Rhulain for the second time a few months ago. But no, they didn't become an official couple. But who knows what the future holds, eh? It's possible.

Hmm, one of those open-end things... like Mariel and Dandin! They were always together - I'm sure that, although Brian Jacques never stated it directly, they must have been something of a couple... though they never actually had kids in the canon of the storyline!

Hey, possibly the Gonfelin Thieves of the "Doomwyte" story have roots there! ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought they'd be a great couple. Maybe in the future they do ^^

Ha, My parents were out of state for my spring break and between college, looking after the house, cooking and taking care of my three dogs I didn't have a lick of time for art, and it killed me. I kept thinking "Haha, tonight I'll do some drawing," and then would find out that I had to take my younger brother into Duluth for 5 hours in the evening so that he could practice with the youth symphony, or have Civil Air Patrol, etc...

Meh...

Well they are otters, after all. And they're not in the heat of battle at the moment, they're sharing a tender moment. Hence, "cute and cuddly".

Btw, have you ever seen this one vid on YouTube about a baby sea otter who was rescued from bad waters (or so I recall), and in this one part in the vid, it shows her in a little tub of water, and while she's sloshing around in it on her back, she brings up her little paws and actually *claps* them! :iconsqueeeplz:

This is awesome, I really like how you draw otters. And you're right, the trees do look better than scribbley... lumps?

At first I was like "what? Why'd you scribble through them?" and then I realized they're standing in the water. Again, I say awesome. My vocab could use some expanding. ;)

Oh good, so my new tree method was successful it seems. And yeah they're in the water. :D Sorry if that was a bit harder to see.

And thank you. :D

Shellhound looks the same as your other drawing but Tira looks much more beautiful (when it comes to otters) and a lot less savage as she was with her wullup, or whatever she named her sling.

I especially like your otter and beasts in the weasel family drawings. And your Raccoons of course :D I need to have more raccoon characters in my books.

I believe it was called Wuppit. :D

:D Thanks. But of course she looks less savage than the first one, she was battle ready. :D
