Folgrim'll get yer

Description

"Like a wolf, Folgrim was upon him with lightning speed. He seized the rat in a death hug, sinking his teeth deep into the vermin's throat. Shocked beyond belief, the other rat stood trembling a moment, then he dashed off wailing in terror. Folgrim lifted a bloodstained mouth from his prey's neck, calling, 'Run run run, ratty, I'll track ye down, Folgrim'll get yer.'"

Everyone remembers Folgrim from the Legend of Luke, right? He's the son of Bargud, the nephew of Garraway Bullow, Warthorn and Riverwyte. And of course he's the brother of Skipper Tungro.

I know he looks crazy but with good reason.

Folgrim and his brother Tungro were Skippers of their holt. When a band of mixed vermin came, they fought them off. But Folgrim didn't think it was enough. Fierce warrior that he was, he pursued the vermin alone. Folgrim returned two seasons later starving, beaten, and with his mind ruined. The vermin had trapped him, starved and tortured him. After that, he was never the same.

Several times, his brother banished him from the holt because of his savage and strange ways. I mean the guy was eating rats and vermin. But Tungro always welcomed him back and forgave his ways.

Folgrim's story does have a happy ending by the way.

And in the background was my pathetic attempt at foliage. I tried to make Folgrim look kind of creepy, savage, and insane. Hoped it worked well. I almost feel sorry for the rat...almost.

WOW, if Martin and his friends haven't found Folgrim and have him give up cannibalizing vermin, he would have also turned to woodlanders as well and would've become the wendigo of Mossflower! Good thing Martin and his friends found him and helped turn away from cannibalism.

Still though, I don't think eating rats and other vermin would be considered cannibalism. Would he have to eat only his species to commit that? Because that's how some animals do it today.
